Abattoir Services  

Green’s Meat Market is pleased to offer custom slaughter, butchering and processing for local farmers. For over 50 years we have provided these services for beef, pork, goat, sheep, alpaca & bison producers. We recognize this is an integral part of our agricultural community and we are proud to share in bringing farms a little bit closer to table.

Things to Know:

  1. Custom butchering slots book up very quickly - especially in the summer and fall months. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure you can book a spot on your ideal slaughter date.
  2. We slaughter beef every Tuesday and lambs/goats/alpacas on the last Tuesday of each month.
  3. We are currently not slaughtering pigs onsite but work closely with Bachert’s (a local abattoir located in Walton, Ontario) who slaughters for us each Thursday. Please contact us to book your pork slaughter date. All pork cutting and processing will still take place on site at the Wingham location. 

Beef Processing Rates 

Slaughter & Hang 14 Days: $105
Slaughter & Hang 14 Days over 30 months: $185
Cut & Wrapping: $0.80/lb
Hamburger patties: $0.75/lb


Pork Processing Rates 

Slaughter Under 300lbs: $90
Slaughter Over 300lbs: $120
Curing: $0.65/lb
Sausage: starts at $0.75/lb 


How Custom Butchering Works

1 Book Your Spot

Contact us to book your spot. We will provide you with all necessary information pertaining to your butcher date.

2 Provide Your Instructions

Fill out a custom cutting sheet and we will cut and package to your unique specifications!

3 Pick Up

Pick up your custom cuts retail ready or by the quarter/side. We even welcome your customers to pick up their own purchased sides & quarters directly from our freezer!
